I have minimal experience with phone cameras, so this is general photography although I imagine it is the same for logical reasons.So, if the camera is set on a timer for one shot at pro 3" or 10", usually the focus and exposure are locked when you press the shutter.
This is just in case you want to control what is in focus, or where the focus mate is.Normally this is something you'd do from a tripod or a fixed position.You wouldn't press the shutter button till the camera always set up.
For example, if you press the display button while standing locking focus and exposure on what you want display then put the camera down to where you want it to take the picture from, then there is a good chance that focus and light will be wrong because the camera has moved in relation to the subject and angle of light.
